Here is an original Western Electric candlestick telephone. It is the model 40AL and it has its original Bowwer Barriff finish. Bower Barriff was a finish used by Western Electric instead of paint. Somehow they steamed on the finish.
This candlestick is a fully working telephone.
We have been restoring antique telephones for 18 years. We love what we do and it shows. The Western Electric receiver shell is marked and the receiver cord is its nice original cloth covered cord.
Your friends will be truly amazed to see you using it or to hear your voice on something from the year 1915. We have installed a matching brown cloth line cord with a modular end so you just plug it in and enjoy - It works fully as an extension phone.
You can talk thru its mouthpiece transmitter and hear on its hand held receiver.
Just look at the finish. The receiver has perfect embossment on the top with logo and patent dates (not shown).
The mouthpiece has the Western Electric Star in the middle. The bottom part also is stamped as you can see Western Electric.
