This Monophone was produced in 1934 by Automatic Electric.
Very simply they called this beauty the AE 34.
This hard to find telephone comes with black trim as pictured. The painted black solid brass parts include the handset bands, fingerwheel and dial card holder. Most AE34 telephones were with this black trim with the exception of some having nickel plated and few having 24 Kt gold trim.
This model has 1 plunger which distinguishes it from the later AE40 which had 2 plungers.
Its handset and body are made of black bakelite which is buffed and polished better than new.
It features the type 38 handset with the spitcup and 2 quality matching brown woven cloth cords are included.
The base has a soft rubber gasket to keep your furniture from damage. This Automatic Electric model 34 works and rings beautifully. Fully functional.
It is about as art deco as it gets.
We can also install Automatic Electric braided handset cord. These new old stock cords are called Extensi cords and are $95 extra. Available in black or brown with red specks
