Product Description

Here is an original 653A Western Electric wall telephone which was made in the 1920s. This one still has the 2HB dial with the fancy finger stop. There is also a nice nickle plated dial number card holder with my favorite dial card "Remove Receiver". The finish is excellent and it has not been repainted. It is the original Japan Black finish. Most have the bulldog transmitter as they were refurbished by Western Electric in the 1940s. This one has not been refurbished and it has the original transmitter. This is the wall version of the candlestick telephone and it works very well. Its 2 gong ringer provides a beautiful  ring that can only be heard in phones from the 1920s and 1930s.
